Patient Care Spotlight - Kathleen S.

Kathleen S., Surgical Coordinator

Kathleen has earned a good-natured nickname among staff: “The Sarge.” It’s a compliment to the precise way she keeps physicians’ surgical schedules – and communication – flowing.

“As a surgical coordinator for Dr. Christopher James and Dr. Taylor Beatty, I’m in contact with primary care offices to obtain medical clearances prior to surgery as well as keeping the referring physician in the loop on updates of patients’ care," she says.

A Florida native, she was drawn to the orthopedics field after dealing with knee problems as a child. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and came to Orthopedic Specialists in February 2020. Her job is a perfect fit for her interest in orthopedics and natural organizational skills. “I like working with the doctors, looking ahead and filling in the gaps,” she says.

Adds Dr. Beatty, “She excels at anticipating needs, knowing what post-ops are going to need, and having everything ready to roll.”

Kathleen is an integral part of what sets Orthopedic Specialists apart: superb coordination of care, low wait times, and patient satisfaction – earning us more than 1,000 5-star reviews.
