Physical and Hand Therapy Services

Orthopedic Specialists belief in providing the highest quality of care to our patients does not stop with the physicians visit itself that is why we feel it is essential to offer specialized therapy programs. We have an on-site therapy department to provide comprehensive therapy services to individuals and athletes that have suffered injuries or have physical impairments, which are prohibiting them from resuming their normal life’s activities.

Patients receive hands-on care from experienced, licensed professionals. The staff advance their skills through regular participation in formal continuing education programs. Each patient is evaluated thoroughly with tests of motion, strength, sensation, pain and dexterity, and a functional assessment of activities of daily living. Our licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants work closely with our physicians offering the feedback necessary to help in speeding a patient’s recovery. Our staff has received specialized training in orthopedic conditions, motor vehicle accident injuries, and sports injuries. They are dedicated to helping patients recover from an injury or impairment to restore patients back to their daily life’s activities.

The therapy department is unlike many others you may encounter, as here at Orthopedic Specialists, you are not only a therapy patient you are our doctor’s patient. Orthopedic Specialists also has a hand therapy department, which is a highly specialized area of therapy, consisting of a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). Our hand therapist is an occupational therapist who advanced their study to specialize in rehabilitating patients with conditions affecting the hands and upper extremity. The close working relationship between our hand therapist and your physician assures you that you are receiving the most appropriate care for your condition.
